Thursday I went to see Dr. Hollsten on Thursday to check the fit of my prosthesis. He thinks it looks great and has awesome movement. He said he can tell that I have lost fat on my eyelid and Jean can fix that by adding a little to the prosthesis to make it thicker near the top so the lid sits open more. Went to see my surgeon today. He said my suture line looks great and the tissue is all healed. I see my ocularist on thursday to start the process of making a new prosthesis. I have to go back next Tuesday to finish it ( Read more... )

I just got back from seeing my surgeon, Dr. Hollsten. The ointment was irritating my skin and the sutures were seeping and it was yellow so I was afraid it was infected. He took the stitches out of the lid and said that everything looked great on the inside and that it moved good and was healing nicely. He told me to stop using the ointment and ( Read more... )

Everything went fine yesterday. I got released around 1pm. Got my meds. Ate some mashed potatoes and slept. I am wearing a pressure patch for the next 3 days. After that I can take it off. My eye lid is stitched closed and they will be removed during my follow up on Sat. May 8th. I'm not going to be able to get a new prosthesis made for 6 weeks so ( Read more... )

I'm getting ready to go to my surgery. I just want it to be over. I know I'm going to get upset at the hospital. I want it to be 3pm. I'll be back home by then and asleep in my own bed.

It's been an exhausting weekend. Friday was the day parade for Fiesta and the start of the parade was right at Sam's Burger Joint so it was pretty crazy and I was still getting used to the computer system. So I just wanted to let everyone know what is going on with me. I made a decision about my eye and saw my surgeon on Monday. I'm having an evisceration done on April 27th.
